Comments:

The field at the Ronan Invitational Cross Country meet included thirteen teams. The Whitefish High School Boys and Girls Cross Country teams both came out with second place finishes. Corvallis was able to come out on top in both races with Thompson Falls in Third place in the boys' team results, while Columbia Falls ended up in third on the girls' side.

Keaton Grove (4th in 17:13), Thomas Henson (5th in 17:14) and EJ Havens (6th in 17:45) were the lead runners for the Bulldogs.

"These three young men continue to do a great job of running up front for our boys' team. We continue to improve at each meet, and that will bode well for us as the season progresses. I think that Ethan Lannaghan and Keaton Nicholson will continue to close that gap between them and our top runners, and that will help us out in the future", said Head coach Sara Brist.

"We have several young runners learning what it takes to earn their way onto our varsity. I would say that we have at least 12 or 13 different runners that have the ability to run on that varsity seven on a given day. We really love the depth that we have on our boys' team this year", mentioned Brist.

They Lady Bulldogs were led by Sarah Latcham once again. Her time of 19:34 put her solidly into fourth place overall.

"The 3 young ladies from Corvallis are, perhaps, the top runners in the State for Class A. I think that Sarah is gaining the confidence that will help her to close the gap between her and them. Last year, Sarah was 20th at this meet. She has done a tremendous job of preparing during the off season, and her results are showing the payoff", commented Coach Brist.

"Peyton, Sloan, Katie and Annika are doing a great job of running together which is helping us in the team score. We were sixth at this meet last year, so we are happy to move up in the team standings," added Brist.

The WHS teams have the weekend off, and then compete in Missoula at the Mountain West Classic meet.
